I had the pleasure of designing a flyer and a display sign for the Hōkūleʻa world wide voyage exhibition. I created a simple and easy to understand design, so the viewer could easily focus on the design elements throughout the piece. For example, the frame is straight with a few waves to signify that the hōkūleʻa does not only work on the sea but also on land by sharing hawaiian cultural traditions around the world. I also incorporated the star consolations that the navigators use to represent how the hōkūleʻa has been traveling around the world while also showing the world wide voyages path on a map above.
